In what is shaping up to be the defining moment of this generation thus far, confusion coupled with ambiguity look to be the leading agents of change during this time of uncertainty. It is no secret that the Corona Virus (Covid-19) continues to expose our apathy for decisiveness and concern. With many (mainly new millennials) not taking the virus that originated from our Asian neighbors in the west seriously, we are now burdened with the continued influx of corona cases and mass hysteria. The current Matrix as we’ve known it to be for sometime is now changed yet again. This stemming from this new piece of code that has infiltrated our systems core. Like other illnesses and corona viruses of the past (The Spanish Flu, MERS, and SARS), Covid-19 has made a name for itself by its swift maneuvering ability and destructive demeanor over such a short period of time. With the closure of state activities and establishments besides those deemed “essential” (grocery stores, gas station, and hospitals), we are left sitting in seclusion wondering if preventative measures could have been taken earlier to avoid such isolation and seclusion from life as we knew it to be. Currently, the United States has over 65, 201 cases of the corona virus, as confirmed by CNN’s Chuck Johnston. With no real estimation as to when this pandemic will be dissolved, many are left to surmise their own takes on when life will proceed back to its “normal” state. Regularly scheduled programming is at a stand still; we are now left hoping a new code will be written to disrupt the actions of this current virus.
