Brewing Up Success

The soon to be former Chief Operating Officer of Starbucks Roz Brewer will continue to brew success, but in a different pot. Officially stepping down from her role at the coffee conglomerate this February, Mrs. Brewer has officially accepted the role of Chief Executive Officer for pharmacy giant Walgreens. Mrs. Brewer is now the only Black woman and woman of color to currently lead a Fortune 500 company, which is a staggering concept to grasp. Prior to her appointment of COO at Starbucks, Brewer served as the first woman, woman of color, and Black woman to lead as Chief Executive Officer of Sam’s Club. Now being the third woman ever who is Black to lead a Fortune 500 company, Mrs. Brewer is helping spearhead the new movement of Black woman leaders in power positions. With the appointment of our new Vice President (Kamala Harris) who is multi-racial (Black, Asian, and American), and past CEO’s Ursula Burns (Xerox, 2009 & 2016) and Mary Winston (Bed Bath & Beyond, 2019), Brewer is helping knockdown barriers and restructuring the social landscape of Power leaders. Mrs. Brewer is not just inspiration for women who are Black or of color, but all women in the world.
