Nigerian economist Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala will be the first African and first woman to lead the World Trade Organization. With many distractions, ambiguity, and in-cohesiveness, Ngozi assume control of a challenging tasks of an organization that has struggled in recent years to prevent trade discrepancy amongst members. Okonjo-Iweala is the former finance minister of Nigeria, and has growing support from her WTO counterparts, such as Japan, China, Australia, and the European Union. With 25 years under her belt as an development economist at the World Bank, managing director, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is no stranger to the adventurous world of economy and structure. She serves as yet another woman walking momentous strides in the world of leadership and development.
