After 16 years and numerous electronic classics, the robots have announced they are powering down. Dynamic duo Daft Punk, comprised of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, have officially announced they are splitting up. With hits such as “Lucky”, “Doing it right”, “around the world”, and “one more time”, the robots leave behind a legacy of feel-good anthems that are timeless in every sense of the phrase. The last spectacular album developed by Bangalter and Homem-Christo, “Random Access Memories” (2013), earned the two a grammy and immense amount of praise for their eccentric use of drums and synthesizers. Daft Punk has been good to us. They gave us futuristic style from the past while remaining in the present. The era of Daft was a unique experience that we will forever store in our own personal data bases.
