The King Soars

Sunday night saw LeBron James surpass yet another major milestone and historic marker in his career and in the NBA by becoming number 2 on the NBA’s all time scoring list. Passing the Karl “Mailman” Malone, The King now stands behind Hall Of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who currently holds the top position with 38,387 points scored within 20 seasons. James is the youngest player to ever score 37,000 points, which is a testament to his longevity and commitment to excellence over the last 19 years. Arguably, Lebron is having one of the best scoring years of his famed career, which stunningly was not expected for 37 year old superstar. It is no secret that LeBron’s Lakers have not had the Hollywood story many thought it would be this season. Riddled by injuries and bad play, unlike LeBron, the Lakers simply have not shown up for majority of the season. At this pace, LeBron James is set to break the all-time scoring record, which many believe would help solidify his case once and for all as the GOAT. Though it won’t happen this season, what’s to come next for the 4 time NBA champion can only be left to ones imagination.
